On Saturday, November 8th a variety show was held on the occasion of festival of lights, Diwali. This event organized by Barclay school, took place at the auditorium of William Hingston Centre, 419 Saint Roch. This special evening brought together members of the community, school and almost 300 children and parents. A good time was shared by all.
The program was put together by Premila Ramessur who is responsible for family and community relations at Barclay school. Contributing to the success of this evening, were CGLP, City of Montreal, the local sponsors and the volunteers. The program featured the dance group from Katyaon dance school and other young talented dancers from the neighbourhood and Barclay School.
Guests of honours included MP, M. Justin Trudeau, municipal councilor of Parc-Extension, Mary Deros, PLQ candidate, Gerry Sklavounos and Kelvin Arroyo, the principal of Barclay school.
