Laurier-Dorion M.N.A. Gerry Sklavounos, announced an
investment of 1 077 250$ in road infrastructure for 2009-2010
in Laurier-Dorion. This sum is part of the Charest government’s
vast infrastructure renovation package of over 3,7 billion
dollars for 2009-2010.
This year, the amounts invested in road infrastructure are
the most generous in Québec’s history due to the January 14th
increase of the previously announced Québec infrastructure
plan. “The amounts announced this year confirm the will of
our government to continue to improve the state of our roads”,
specified the Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Health
and Social Services Gerry Sklavounos.
“By facilitating transportation and notably the movement and
delivery of our exported goods, the improvement of our roads will contribute greatly
to the economic development of Laurier-Dorion” , he said
This investment will allow for the realization of roadway and structural conservation
and network improvement.
An investment of such magnitude will help create and maintain many jobs. “This is
an important lever to counter the effects of the current economic crisis in many socioeconomic
areas. These investments will support our local economy and contribute to
wealth creation and the quality of life for our citizens”, concluded Mr. Sklavounos.
