A free family festival was held on Saturday, September 26th, 2009 at Howard Park on Liége and Querbes. Hosted by the non profit group P.E.Y.O. (Park Extension Youth Organization), this sixth edition proved to be an enormous success. Over 1000 children and their families came out to enjoy the sun filled day and partake in all the various activities free of charge.

Plenty of action
There were six major inflatable attractions; all carefully chosen to be age appropriate, a train ride, and of course face painting which always proves to be among the children’s favorite.

Winners of dance and sports competitions were awarded valuable gift certificates to La Ronde, the Biodome, Cinema Guzzo, the Planetarium, the Insectarium and family restaurants.

A large donation from Natrel and Moisson Montréal made it possible for the children to receive free milk refreshments and snacks throughout the day.

The evening drew to a close with a lively and entertaining performance from the African percussion group NonKama. Many residents participated and enjoyed themselves by dancing.

The day was filled with colorful balloons, mascots, cotton candy and foremost the laughter of the children of Park Extension. The children’s faces were priceless and the P.E.Y.O. staff, volunteers and board members were excellent in forming lasting memories that will be forever cherished by all the families of the district.
