India Canada Association celebrates India’s 73rd anniversary

(PXN) Members of the India India Canada Association of Montreal celebrated India’s 73rd Independence Day, as well as 550 years of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, and 150 years of Mahatma Gandhi, in Montreal on Saturday Aug. 24.

The colourful and exciting 7 pm to midnight event, held at the Hampton Inn at 1900 Trans Canada Highway in Dorval, drew hundreds of guests.

The members and supporters had previously held a flag hoisting ceremony on Thursday Aug.15 at Gandhi Park in Côte des Neiges in conjunction with the celebrations.

The tone for the event was set by invitations which were inscribed with a quotation by Guru Nanak who said, “God is one, but he has innumerable forms. He is the Creator of all and He Himself takes the Human form.”
