Standoff near Hutchison and Ogilvy between a man and local police

Montréal / Park Extension—Local police surrounded a building near the corner of Ogilvy and Hutchison in Park-Extension this morning. According to eye-witnesses, the police were there since 10AM. Law enforcement officers were in fact present (up to 20 vehicles according to eye-witnesses) for quite a while as the day progressed, carrying what locals called: large assault weapons.

Many locals commenting on a rather popular social media post spoke of a possibility that it was all about a man who refused to come out of his apartment situated near that corner and/or intersection—a man who had been making quite a ruckus for a few days in fact.

We put in a call to local law enforcement but haven’t yet been able to get through. We will stay on the story and post updates as we have them.
